Food Service Account Manager (Full-Time) (Pacific Northwest or Southeast)

Rebellyous Foods is a growth-stage plant-based meat company working to make our products available and affordable for everyone through the design of novel manufacturing technology. Rebellyous Foods is seeking a Food Service Account Manager who enjoys making a difference, being a part of a team, and takes pride in working in a fast-paced, constantly changing startup environment. We are seeking a mission-focused and dedicated team member to enthusiastically represent our products, create sales opportunities, and build partnerships with foodservice customers. This position reports directly to the Chief Relationship Officer.

Our Food Service Account Manager should be excited to roll up their sleeves, work with the team and customers daily, travel frequently regionally and occasionally nationally, and drive our mission forward with a strong sense of urgency. We value dedication to excellence and impact, and we need a no nonsense, high performing, experienced food service sales manager ready to navigate complex operational challenges and avoid costly distractions. A joyfully strong work ethic and the ability to inspire the same in others is absolutely required.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop/maintain relationships with food service customers and respond to client needs with our solutions.
  • Become an expert in our product offerings and customer needs.
  • With the Chief Relationship Officer, create a regional sales strategy for existing and prospective customers.
  • Present and sell products to current and potential clients, identifying customer needs, and crafting solutions to successfully meet them.
  • Identify, develop and refine account profiles for key customers within the assigned territory. Utilize the company’s CRM regularly to track sales calls, opportunities and wins.
  • Conduct product and proposition presentations. Refine selling strategies based on the outcomes.
  • Hire and manage sales brokers in assigned territory and provide support as needed.
  • Develop/maintain relationships with distributor reps, conduct distributor trainings and ride-alongs to support product sales.
  • Write and supply regular and/or ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Monitor opportunities and complete the bid process for foodservice accounts.
  • Manage an individual expense account within budget guidelines.
  • Identify new sales leads, pitch products, and maintain fruitful relationships with existing customers and research potential new markets.
  • Contact potential customers via email or phone to establish rapport, set up meetings and conduct tastings, pilot programs, and manage contracts.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and leads to inform them about new developments in the company’s products.
  • Develop quotes and proposals. Negotiate by phone, email, and in person. Must be comfortable with legal documents.
  • Organize and attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to build relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct product presentations to customers and trade organizations.
  • Coordinate with the Manufacturing & Logistics team to fill orders and manage customer accounts.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor and R&D on customer needs for future R&D efforts.
  • Maintain effective, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Organize and provide assistance for special sales and promotions.
  • Attend and actively participate in priority sales meetings and appointments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Candidates should have all of the following credentials:

  • Enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • IT fluency with skills including GSuite, Microsoft Office suite. Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Basic accounting skills to support customer account maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal. Confident and effective public speaking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Flexible and willing to take on any tasks to support team efforts.
  • Friendly, professional, and courteous, placing a strong value on relationships.
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations.
  • Excellent time management and organization.
  • Two years’ food service sales experience required and extensive food service industry relationships preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and personal accountability with the ability to be a self-starter and make independent decisions.
  • Work requires travel (up to 50 percent) to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license and a personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
  • Maintain a current food handler’s permit and apply food safety knowledge as necessary.
  • Interest in the plant-based meat industry.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This position may require weekend or after-hours work.

Location & Travel: Fully remote. Must live in the Pacific Northwest or Southeastern United States. Travel in state and out of state required up to 50% of the time.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience. Full Time employee benefits include: Eleven paid holidays, 14 days paid vacation, and sick leave according to WA state law. We also offer medical, dental, and vision insurance and cover 75% of the premium for employees. We provide opportunities for professional development and frequently promote from within.
