The primary goal of this role is:
To lead the clinical and professional development of Mahmee’s doula team, while continuing to provide compassionate, culturally competent birth and postpartum care. Success in this role means doulas feel supported and prepared, clients feel informed and empowered, and the doula care model is aligned with Mahmee’s values.

You must have this knowledge:

  • Birth doula and postpartum doula standards of practice and ethics
  • Community birth trends and patient-centered approaches to birth planning
  • Scope of non-clinical birth support and boundaries in interdisciplinary care
  • Trauma-informed, anti-racist, and culturally responsive birth work
  • Care coordination and referral practices in maternal health

You must have these skills:

  • Birth support and postpartum care experience across diverse populations
  • Ability to mentor peers, give feedback, and guide through case review
  • Comfortable representing doula team in interdisciplinary spaces
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting in both peer and client relationships
  • Familiarity with documenting doula support in digital platforms

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver non-clinical birth and postpartum support to Mahmee clients with professionalism, empathy, and alignment to organizational values
  • Lead peer mentorship and continuing education for the doula team
  • Review cases and escalate any clinical flags to Linda or relevant leads
  • Collaborate with Linda and the Care Logistics Manager on scheduling and shift assignments
  • Support new doulas in onboarding and aligning with Mahmee’s standards
  • Represent the doula team in cross-functional leadership conversations and case reviews
