Introduction

AOA Dx exists to transform women’s health. We are leading the next generation of cancer diagnostics, applying lipidomics, proteomics, and machine learning to enable earlier diagnosis of ovarian cancer for women with signs and symptoms - an area where no diagnostic tool exists today.

The Opportunity

AOA Dx is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to support the advancement of our early-stage ovarian cancer diagnostic program, AKRIVIS GD™.

This entry-level role will initially support R&D activities to enable technology readiness and transfer into a CAP/CLIA-certified laboratory environment. The CLS I will play a critical role in preparing and analyzing patient serum and plasma specimens using LC-MS and immunoassay platforms, while ensuring adherence to established SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a structured, regulated laboratory environment and is eager to contribute to a high-impact women’s health diagnostic program.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Testing & Sample Preparation

  • Perform routine preparation of serum and plasma specimens, including aliquoting, dilution, and extraction
  • Perform high-complexity testing under CLIA regulations
  • Assist with testing on LC-MS platforms and automated immunoassay analyzers under supervision
  • Load samples, reagents, and controls accurately onto analytical instruments
  • Review test data for completeness and consistency; escalate unusual findings appropriately

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Adhere to CAP, CLIA, and laboratory quality standards
  • Perform routine quality control procedures and document results
  • Support method validation, proficiency testing, and competency assessments
  • Report deviations, instrument issues, or quality concerns promptly

Documentation & Laboratory Operations

  • Record testing activities, QC results, and maintenance logs in laboratory information systems (LIS)
  • Maintain organized, compliant laboratory documentation
  • Assist with reagent preparation, inventory management, and supply tracking
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory workspace

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (CAP/CLIA preferred, GLP, GMP, EPA)
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and handling of human specimens
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs in a regulated setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASCP certification (or certification-eligible status)Academic or internship experience with HPLC, LC-MS or immunoassay platforms
  • Prior clinical or regulated laboratory experience
