People Operations Manager

AOA Dx is developing the next frontier in early-stage cancer detection through its pioneering work in glycolipids and proprietary biomarker technology. Our revolutionary tumor marker ganglioside platform, GlycoLocate™, is paving the way for life-saving early cancer detection. In a first of its kind, AOA Dx is developing AKRIVIS GD™, an early-stage liquid biopsy test for ovarian cancer.

We are seeking a People Operations Manager to oversee the smooth operation of our office environment and Human Resources (HR) to support our employees. This role will be responsible for managing various administrative tasks, maintaining office culture, and serving as a point of contact for all people-related queries and processes. We are looking for an individual who will contribute to our continued growth by taking ownership of key HR projects, from conception to implementation, ensuring successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will be professional, discreet, and possess high emotional intelligence, with a willingness to learn and develop in the HR field. They will also be able to effectively prioritize a high number of tasks and be comfortable with collaborating with individuals throughout the entire organization.

Responsibilities:

People Management:

  • Lead all Human Resources and People-related queries, processes, and policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain office culture within and across departments, providing regular updates to leaders to continuously improve the company culture
  • Oversee staff interactions and respond to their queries on office management issues.
  • Create and update office policies and oversee hiring and onboarding for new hires.
  • Partner with the leadership team to design, develop, and implement programs that increase engagement, advocate wellness, and nurture a culture of excellence and performance.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Review, and manage competitive and equitable compensation and benefit plans.

Performance Management:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the performance management system for all employees, including informal and formal meetings, review meetings, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

Employee Engagement:

  • Partner with the leadership team to design, develop, and implement programs aimed at increasing engagement, advocating wellness, and nurturing a culture of excellence and performance.
  • Track and analyze employee engagement through ongoing surveys.

Technology Champion:

  • Research, develop, and implement new tools and technologies to improve human-related best practices and efficiencies.

Hiring:

  • Manage and improve the screening, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process.
  • Translate strategic and tactical objectives into an evolving org chart and manage the entire hiring process, providing ongoing guidance and data to hiring managers.

Learning/Development:

  • Develop and implement training opportunities for team members to improve soft and technical skills.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all HR processes comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Complete ongoing risk assessments and lead all legal HR matters.

Office Management:

  • Serve as the point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills, and errands (non-R&D).
  • Maintain the IT infrastructure and coordinate with the IT team to ensure optimal IT performance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and the landlord for all office-related matters.
  • Ensure the office is a safe, secure, and pleasant place to work.
  • Be prepared to roll their sleeves up and help ensure the office is optimized to support a high performance team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Human Resources certifications/training are not required but are welcomed
  • Change management experience, leading team or managing projects
  • An understanding of Human Resources spanning all aspects of the discipline, including employee relations, learning & development, talent management, DE&I, and recruiting.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage a high number of tasks and appropriately prioritize
  • Experience working with senior leaders, using information and influence to successfully navigate change
  • Desired characteristics include professionalism, discretion, a keen interest in learning and development, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Must be based in Denver, Colorado

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $125,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The actual compensation and seniority level for this position will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications.
